Live Handler Work Shop

The Pet Partners Handler Course is required for anyone who wants to be registered with Pet Partners as a therapy animal team. This course can be taken online or as a one day workshop (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) concentrating on the human end of the leash. The handler’s course is for Human only. Service animals are welcome.

Handlers will learn:

• supporting and being your animal’s advocate
• volunteer responsibilities
• the skills needed to visit safely
• how to decide what type of facilities to visit
• various visiting techniques
• regulations and policies
• detailed instructions and requirements for the team evaluation
